I started the Erie Creative Network as a passion project in the middle of 2022. I wanted to give creatives in the Erie area a resource to connect with each other. Over the years, I’ve always had trouble finding the right creative professional when I needed them most. There were times I was looking for a freelance designer, or needed to recommend a photographer for a wedding and would’ve loved a directory that I could reference. I know that most creatives that are just starting their career are not focusing too much on SEO—very few have a background in marketing as they are graduating college. My hopes were that creating a directory for creatives that are just getting started would help them kickstart their careers and/or gain more exposure.
The Erie Creative Network was live for almost a year before I shut it down indefinitely. It’s not completely dead, but if it were to make a comeback, I would probably expand it further outside of the Erie area to expand traffic & interest.
